About This Journal

The International Journal of Lifelong Learning in Art Education (IJLLAE) is a peer-reviewed journal published once yearly by the Committee on Lifelong Learning (LLL), an interest group of the National Art Education Association established in 1990. LLL advocates for quality art education for all ages, from “womb to tomb,” primarily in out-of-school, community, museum, and higher education settings.

We welcome traditional and non-traditional formats of articles, those written collaboratively, and those written from a variety of perspectives.

This is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which allows users to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

The submission process requires creation of an account in VCU Scholars Compass. Instructions for creating an account can be found under, "Policies" on the sidebar menu.
