MATHEMATICAL MODELS FOR THE TRANSMISSION DYNAMICS OF BOVINE SCHISTOSOMIASIS WITH CONTAMINATED ENVIRONMENT

Solomon Kadaleka, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg

Being a PhD student I have come to understand that PhD work is much more of an independent and original nature and is internationally accepted as the actual research qualification. As such researchers coming together and share ideas is of paramount importance since a researcher you gain more and improve on research work. Also the fact that there is an advancement in research techniques, much of knowledge about these techniques are shared if the researchers deliberate on them in forums. It is for this reason that BAMM Conference offers an opportunity to the researchers to come together and share ideas. As I do my PhD in Applied Mathematics, in the field of Mathematical Biology, I take it as an opportunity to be part and parcel of such a gathering because by being subjected to the experts in my field during the conference, I will have a chance to gain more knowledge which will be useful during my course of education. Furthermore, as a learner, there are always new things to know and learn, hence given a chance to attend the conference, it will give me a platform to fully participate in the conference activities thereby showcasing my potential as well as gaining knowledge from the other participants in the gathering.
