Abstract
Wes Freed discusses his process, design influences, and work with The-Drive-By Truckers. Freed’s work draws from painters such as Hieronymus Bosch, Francisco Goya and Gustav Klimt, as well as signpainting, art deco lettering, country music, southern rock, punk, the psychedelic design of the 60s, and comic art. The landscape and atmosphere of the Shenandoah Valley, as well as Freed’s experiences growing up there have been especially relevant to his work.
