Abstract

Transcription factor, MphR(A), can be used in the aid for new antibiotic discovery in the form of biosensors. This dissertation discusses the role of MphA in our biosensors as well as the a newly discovered MphR(A) variant with specificity to the semi-synthetic clarithromycin.
