California State University, Chico has incorporated a Teacher-in-Residence program within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The purpose of this program is to have an elementary school teacher take a leave of absence from his or her classroom in order to work half—time in the Department of Mathematics at the University and half-time for the Chico Uniﬁed School District as a Mathematics Resource Specialist.
