Abstract
The topic "Recent Developments" is partially a misnomer because what I am going to address myself to is the recent trends or developments in three particular areas of the law as it affects the field of medicine, and then attempt to related these particularly to the field of anesthesiology. You must also understand that "recent" medically and "recent" legally may in fact be years apart. What are commonly referred to as recent legal theories, frequently find their origin in court decision several decades old. At the same time, some of what follows is of such recent vintage as to be classified by a vintner as green.
