The goals of the VCU Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) are to facilitate and support student-faculty research collaborations that will allow undergraduates to gain meaningful research and creative experiences outside of the classroom. This follows the National Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) definition: “Undergraduate Research is an inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate in collaboration with a faculty mentor that makes an original intellectual thought or creative contribution to the discipline.”
