A black and white photograph of two individuals performing "Synthesis I" at the 1965 Bang Arts Festival at the Richmond Professional Institute. Details of the performance can be read in the April 23, 1965 edition of the student newspaper Proscript available here. Two individuals stand face to face holding one another in the center, with a destroyed set around them. From back of photograph: "Scenes from: "Synthesis I" Bang festival April 1965." From the sheet protector containing the photograph: "Emmet Gowin may have made all of these photos of "Synthesis I" - He did say he made the one reproduced in the Carlyon Catalog. I have no confirmation on these [illegible signature]"
