Abstract
Performing the self through solo performance mixed with the methodologies of Ritual Poetic Drama and Stand Up Comedy can be therapeutic and transformative for the performer and the audience. Artists must continue to defend empathy's crucial necessity for healing trauma of all kinds. Empath nature and addictive behavior can be positive tools for change, and the journey of transformation is a long and beautiful one. Solo performance and Stand Up Comedy affect the human condition and should encourage an audience to examine the moral compass from which they are guided. In these idiotic times we live in, Homo sapiens could use all the help we can get.
