Abstract
The Weight of It is a dual-genre manuscript of poetry and creative non-fiction. In Section One, poems explore the topics of cancer, family, art, and self while experimenting with different types of form. Section Two, entitled On Opening, is a collection of lyric essays focusing on themes of emotional labor, sexuality, singlehood, intimacy, and desire.
