A series of major alterations has transformed this raised cottage into one of the most unusual houses in Jackson Ward. A handsome cast iron porch was added, and a large mansard roof turned it into a three level house.

The Three Hundred Block of Marshall Street contains a large number of pre-Civil War houses, some of which have been altered in unusual ways.
