Physical Details
T-shaped hand drill trephine. Straight ebony handle with scrolling errules, decorative rims, and inscribed crisscrossed patterned grips, perforated and run through by an equally ornamental shaft of nickel-plated steel stemming perpendicularly from the midline. A tightened screw cap holds the component pieces together. The tip is outfitted with a wide, drum-like bit that tapers slightly towards the serrated tip. The saw ring encircles a sharp guide bit within. A slide mechanism running along the shaft determines the vertical position of the guide bit.
