Physical Details
Wooden box with a brass plate on the center of top and metal corners and a lock on the front. Lined on the inside with red fabric, fitted for the instruments. The set is missing 3-4 pieces (scalpel, elevator, brush), but does contain the two trephines. The two trephines are identical, "T" shaped with an ebony handle and a brass center shaft. At the end of the shaft is a steel cylinder with saw teeth at the bottom end. A steel point is in the center of the cylinder and can be advanced out or retracted in by a sliding screw on the shaft.
