Physical Details
Hood presented to Dr. William Sanger in concert with the honorary Doctor of Laws degree granted him by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1950. Hood is sewn from heavy fabric. Velvet trim is deep purple, the traditional color assocated with law degrees. The rear of the hood is largely powder blue, with two wide white stripes crossing the fabric and meeting in a "V" pattern at the middle.
