Physical Details

Ceramic bedpan with wide lip and handle. Basin has a wide oval-shaped opening which slopes approximately 45 degrees from the top of the apparatus, and the opening is straight towards the lower lip. Slipper style. Handle is open for the pouring out of waste collected in the pan, wide tube. Bottom is stamped "Vitreous" with an illustration of what appears to be a jar(?); other stamps are "Edwin M. Knowles China Co." and "10-2-1."
