Physical Details

Handheld stainless steel bone cutting rongeur with a geared clipping mechanism. The instrument consists of two blades, one with a steel brace plate screwed in that attaches to the opposite handle and each with a hand guard. The brace plate connects to a moving mechanism that causes the handles to separate at the joint and bring two hollow, ovaloid blades at the distal end toward one another, cutting the bone. Likely used for smaller segements of bone.
