Physical Details
Blake's ear syringe in dedicated case. Case contains three discrete items -- a barrel with handles, a glass vial with two screw ends to attach to the barrel and the irrigating end, and an irrigating piece. The barrel and plunger are made of gutta percha, with the stamp "GOODYEAR 1851. I. R. COMB CO." at the base of the plunger, and there are two curved finger slots attached around the barrel at the proximal end. The glass vial is small and has screws of the same size on either end -- the irrigation piece may be attached either through the glass vial, or directly to the plunger body. The irrigator is curved sharply at an approximately 45 degree angle from the plunger shaft, extends for some distance, and then curves slightly upward. Instrument is housed in small, purpose-built rectangular brown leather case with "Blake's Inner Ear Syringe" stamped on the outside top in gold letters.
