Card Text (transcribed from postcard)
In this twelve story structure Richmond's see more than a modern hotel. Like milestones in Richmond's growth since the War have stood in succession the hostelries of Col. John Murphy around this self-same spot. A one room oyster restaurant in 1872, to-day one of the South's largest hotels typifying the progressive Richmond, the greater Richmond of to-morrow. On this beautiful edifice $650,000 has been expended. $150,000 in decorations alone. With its 300 guest rooms, luxurious furnishings, spacious marble lobby, superbly appointed dining room, this hotel with its annexes affords ever known comfort for its guests.
