This postcard is from the Hunter Stagg Papers housed in Special Collections and Archives. This image of Richmond native Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson (1878-1949) was taken by writer and photographer Carl Van Vechten (1880-1964) on February 6, 1932 in Harlem. The image was made into a postcard and sent to Hunter Stagg (1895-1960), a Richmond writer, book reviewer and a friend of both James Branch Cabell (1879-1958) and Van Vechten.
