Peer reviewers play a critical role in the advancement of the field. Reviewers may improve the quality of writing and work. This can only take place when qualified reviewers take the time to provide quality feedback. As a peer reviewer, you're expected to serve a 2-year term (and are eligible to reapply for continued appointment to serve up to six years). Reviewers are generally expected to say "yes" when asked to review unless there are extenuating circumstances, reviewing several manuscripts per year. Reviewers complete initial peer review training provided by the Managing Editors of Peer Review. Additionally, Peer Reviewers will meet virtually (approximately 2 meetings/year) to discuss topics pertinent to the process, future development, and/or engaging in professional development related to RDR peer review. Manuscripts will be assigned to Peer Reviewers by the Managing Editors of Peer Review. Peer Reviewers will be asked to provide useful commentary to Authors using a set Review Criteria. Following the peer review training, Peer Reviewers should provide suggestions and recommendations for revisions, identify additional work needed or necessary for consideration, and/or make clarifications that would enhance the quality of the manuscripts.
