Event Description
On November 27, 1965, some 25,000 individuals protested in Washington, D.C. against the war in Vietnam. Protestors marched in circles on the sidewalk in front of the White House, then marched to the Washington Monument to hear speakers call for a ceasefire and an end to the war. Counter protestors from the American Nazi Party were also present. Other identified organizations included the American Party of Boston, Youth Against War and Fascism, and Veterans for Peace in Viet Nam (Richmond Times-Dispatch, November 28, 1965).
