Office of PALMER, ACKERMAN & CO., Manufacturers of Salt, Ground Plaster, etc., etc. Saltville Va June 4 1860 Dr. Joynes. Dear Sir Your check for $25, came to hand some time since, I regret having put you to so much trouble, When I came down from Richmond I placed in Dr. Lucketts hands a Thesis along with the fee money. I was surprised to hear that he had only deposited the money. It was my wish to have attended your commencement but owing to a very heavy practice I was not able to get off, I was before your faculty in Jan[uary] last for an examination, for the facts of which I refer you to Dr. McCaw. Yours Truly Tho[ma]s E. Dunn [Endorsement:] No. 31 Dr. Tho[ma]s. E. Dunn $25
