The Blue Earth Co. Court House is devoted to the uses of the county's government. This place is in the midst of the territory affected by the Sioux outbreak in 1862-63, and was the scene of several massacres; thirty-eight Indians were convicted of murder and hanged here in 1863. The government of Mankato is administered under a charter of 1891.
