Court House, St. Joseph, Mo. St. Joseph is one of the largest jobbing centers in the state of Missouri, having over 400 manufacturing establishments, and one of the wealthiest cities of its size in the United States. After the discovery of gold in California, it became prominent as the starting point for mining parties on their way across the prairies.
