The City Hall and Market House contains, besides the city offices, a hall for public entertainments which seats 1,300. The main tower of the building is 128 feet high and commands a magnificent view of the city and both banks of the bayou with its seven bridges. Dick Dowling's monument is in the City Hall Square.
