Description

This book presents a historical account of Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of Medicinal Chemistry, compiled and recollected in 2025 by Professor Emeritus Richard A. Glennon. Included are personal reflections alongside a historical overview of the department's origins and faculty, as well as newly developed programs and initiatives.

Note

Richard A. Glennon, Ph.D. served as chair of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry for more than a decade prior to his retirement in 2019. He was the recipient of the second Alfred Burger Professor of Medicinal Chemistry Endowed Chair award and the only School of Pharmacy faculty member to receive the VCU Distinguished Research Award and the VCU Excellence Award in teaching, research and service.
