Composed of two branches, the Center's mission is to increase first-generation student success through student programming and engagement efforts as well as faculty research and development. First-Generation Student Success informs, connects, and supports first-generation student success, including their retention and degree completion, through events, mentorship, and digital communications. Faculty Engagement and Research, which is the first of its kind across the United States, provides fellowship opportunities for faculty to conduct research aimed at furthering first-generation student success. Faculty learning communities and an ambassador program further equip instructors with resources and information to champion first-generation students.
