Description
A photographic print of two young Girl Scouts--Gayle Lester and Rosemary Wells--pulling sleds with boxes of Girl Scout cookies down a snow covered street with residential homes in the background. Both individuals appear to be white. The print of the photograph is damaged, with streaks from chemical residue across its entirety. "L - Gayle Lester R - Rosemary Wells" handwritten on back.
Included with this photograph is a letter addressed to Miss Lackey from The Richmond News Leader, Richmond, Virginia on letterhead dated February 18, 1958: "Dear Miss Lackey, I am returning to you the photographs which we received in this morning's mail. I am sorry I will be unable to use them. Unfortunately, snap shots will not reproduce in our papers. Thank you for sending them to me, however. Sincerely, Mary Stuart Brenneman"
