This article, first published in the Journal of Pan African Studies (2013, Volume 6, Issue 3), is a shortened version of the author's M.A. thesis in which she traces the trajectories and ideologies of two separate, but intertwined, youth movements in Harare, Zimbabwe: Urban Grooves and Underground Hip Hop.
