Physical Details

Ophthalmoscope in small travel-sized case. The instrument is composed of two major pieces: a detachable handle, and a circular head with a rotating disc and sliding wedge piece. Handle is ivory with a brass screwhole for adding the head. Head has a mirror on reverse side which can be adjusted to the left or right, along its y-axis. Two sets of numbers correspond to eyeglass prescription types -- the plus numbers are in white, and the minus numbers are in red. Quadrant piece slides underneath cover and contains three glasses with numbers .5, 16, and .5. Interior of case is lined in bright blue velvet.
