Richmond June 3rd [18]63 L[evin] S[mith] Joynes M.D. Dean of the Faculty. Sir. If the duties of "Demonstrator of Anatomy" at the Virginia Medical College, are not incompatible with my duties as a Medical Officer in the C. S. A., and I do not think they will {be}: & if my appointment as Demonstrator will interfere in no manner with Dr. Howard--I desire to be considered an applicant for the position Very respectfully Yr.
