Analysis of alum water: Sulphate of alumbina, 12.10; protoxide of iron, 5.39; lime, 13.27; magnesia, 2.31; potassa, 2.09; soda, 2.12; free sulphuric acid, 32.82; sodium chloride, 0.39; sodium silicate, 2.04; organic matter, chiefly crenate of ammonia, 1.75; lithia, a trace detected by the spectroscope; carbonic acid gas, abundant. Total 135.28. Prof. Campbell of Washington & Lee University. this water will be supplied in cases or demijohns."
