Medical College of Va March 7th 1861 Gentlemen Allow me to offer you my sincere and heartfelt thanks for the excellent case of instruments with which you have been so kind as to pre- sent me "as a token of your esteem and affection." I trust I may never prove unworthy this gift or of your kind con- fidence. This Gentlemen, affords me an opportunity long de- sired, of expressing my grati- tude for the many kindnesses you have shown me. As your Student, I shall be ever proud to point to you as my teachers. As your Resident, I shall never forget the courtesy and kindness with which you have always treated me.
